Trail Update February, 22, 2021

All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, Will be closed at NOON today Monday February 22nd.

Clark County trails are subject to periodic closure; for updates on recent closures and/or openings please contact the Forestry and Parks Department at 715-743-5140 or visit the county website at www.clarkcountywi.com for more information on our trail system.

Tail Update February 6, 2021

All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, except the below, will open on Saturday 6th at 8:00am.

The below trail segments remain closed;
-GWR Riders Trail GG, from Intersection 27 to Oak Ridge Parking Lot

Early season riding conditions exist, including open water at select ice crossings and icy spots. All users are reminded to stay on the trails and be responsible while riding. Please be cautious of logging operations as some trails are used as hauling roads and may be plowed.

Please note that UTV’s are not allowed on the Clark County ATV Trail system during the winter months (November 1- May 14).

Trail Update March 6, 2020

Effective Friday, March 6th at 8:00am, all Snowmobile and ATV trails located within Clark County on both Private and Public lands will be closed for the winter riding season.  We would like to provide a huge thank you to all the workers, clubs and volunteers who made this winter riding season possible.

Clark County Summer ATV trails located on the Clark County Forest are tentatively scheduled to reopen on May 15th, 2020 weather permitting.

Please note that UTV’s are not allowed on the Clark County Trails system during the winter months (November 1- May 14).

All ATV and Snowmobile trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, except the below, will open on Friday, January 17th at 8:00am.

The below trail segments remain closed;
-Loyal Snow Angels Trail Y, South of Intersection 66 to Intersection 67.
-GWR Riders Trail GG, from Intersection 27 to Oak Ridge Parking Lot

Trail Update December 19, 2019

All ATV and Snowmobile trails located in Clark County, on both public and private lands with remain closed until further notice is given.

Clubs and Volunteers are still hard at work preparing the trail surface and placing required signage. Several trails are still not passable due to standing crops and open water. We will be evaluating the system again on December 26th.

Effective immediately, all Snowmobile and ATV trails located within Clark County on both Private and Public lands will be closed for the winter riding season.  We would like to provide a huge thank you to all the workers, clubs, and volunteers who made this winter riding season possible.

For Immediate Release February 12th, 2019 Clark County ATV & Snowmobile Trails Update Marcus Aumann, Clark County Parks and Programs Manager Telephone 715-743-5140 All trails located on the Clark County Forest remain open to ATV and Snowmobile riders. Trails located on Private Lands also remain open to the public at this time with the following exception. 1. GWR Riders Trail GG from Intersection 27 to Highway M Area clubs will continue to work hard to groom the large amounts of snowfall which has been received over the past 72 hours. Riders please be mindful of the maintenance equipment out on the trail and use extra caution when riding until all trails can be groomed. Trail Update February 14, 2018

Trails maintained by the Neillsville/Granton Trail Busters are closed effective immediately.

All other Clark County ATV & Snowmobile Trails located on both Public and Private lands will remain open for designated use at this time. Warmer weather is expected a few days this week so riders are asked to ride responsible or limit use during these warm spells. Doing so will help preserve the snow base that is present and prolong the riding season for further enjoyment. Early season riding conditions may still be present in some locations so please use caution. Off trail activity was also observed in several locations over the weekend. Riders please respect the landowners who allow trail use on their property and stay on the designated trail.

Trail Update February 13, 2017

Effective immediately, Clark County ATV & Snowmobile Trails located on Private lands are closed due to warm temperatures and deteriorating conditions. Clark County ATV and Snowmobile Trails located on Public Lands will remain open. Conditions will vary so please ride responsible and try to limit your use when above freezing.
