All Clark County snowmobile & winter ATV trails will close for the season at 8am on Sat March 25, 2023.

All Clark County snowmobile and winter ATV trails on public and private lands will be opening today, Friday, February 24, 2023 at 3pm. Please ride with extreme caution since there are areas with ice under the new snow. Be cautious of some open water areas. Some trails are rough. Grooming operations are taking place and riders must yield to all groomers.

Effective immediately all Clark County Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails on public and private lands are closed. Due to the warm temps we had and the rain we received trails have deteriorated quickly. Out of respect for landowners all trails are closed. We will hope for more snow and cold temps in the near future to start grooming again.

Snowmobile Trails – The following winter ATV/snowmobile trails are OPEN; Thorp, Dorchester, Colby, Riplinger and Loyal. Saturday January 21, 2023 all remaining Clark County winter ATV/snowmobile trails including the county forest will be open Saturday January 21, 2023 at 6AM. Trail Y from STH 10 to Lindsey for the Loyal club remains closed. (Update January 27,2203 Trail Y from STH 10 to Lindsey for the Loyal club is now OPEN.)

VERY LIMITED OPENING: Clark County will only have the Thorp club trails opening and closing with Chippewa County. Thorp trails will OPEN Saturday Dec 31st at 8am and will be CLOSED at 8am Tuesday January 3rd. The rest of Clark County trails will remain closed.

All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, will close at 8AM Saturday, March 5, 2022. Trails will be closed until further notice.

Please remember that riding on closed trails is against the law.

All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located on Public and Private Lands in Clark County will open to riders on Friday January 28, 2022 at 8AM. Riders can expect early season riding conditions, this includes icy patches, thin base and rough agricultural fields. Riders are reminded to use caution while riding.

*TRAIL CLOSURE:  Trail FS between Snyder Park and Chili Road at intersection 9A will be closed until further notice.

*TRAIL CLOSURE: Trail X from intersection 40 north and east to the Black River/Clark Ave, which is maintained by the Thorp Sno Raiders, will remain closed until further notice.

Please use caution while riding trails in the Clark County Forest. There are several areas where logging operations are taking place. Trucks will be hauling on forest roads and snowmobile trails. Some snowmobile trails are plowed. Please slow down, yield to logging equipment and use caution. Please note that UTV’s are not allowed on the Clark County Trails system during the winter months (November 1- May 14). All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, Will be closed at NOON today Monday February 22nd.

All Snowmobile and Winter ATV trails located in Clark County, on both Public and Private Lands, except the below, will open on Saturday 6th at 8:00am.

The below trail segments remain closed;
-GWR Riders Trail GG, from Intersection 27 to Oak Ridge Parking Lot

Early season riding conditions exist, including open water at select ice crossings and icy spots. All users are reminded to stay on the trails and be responsible while riding. Please be cautious of logging operations as some trails are used as hauling roads and may be plowed.

Please note that UTV’s are not allowed on the Clark County ATV Trail system during the winter months (November 1- May 14).
