Trail Update January 16, 2017

Effective Midnight January 16, 2017 Clark County ATV & Snowmobile Trails located on both Public and Private lands will be closed for both ATV & Snowmobile traffic. By closing the trails during the upcoming warm weather we hope to preserve the well-established base which is currently present on our trail system allowing for a quicker reopening after the incoming weather passes. The trails will be evaluated again as normal temperatures resume.

Trail Update January 7, 2017

As of 8:00am on Saturday January 7th, 2017 Clark County ATV & Snowmobile Trails located on both Public and Private lands will be open for both ATV & Snowmobile traffic with the below trail segments remaining closed until further announcement: GWR Riders trail from Intersection 77 to Intersection 27. GWR Riders & Boomtown Sno Chasers trail will be closed from Intersection 78 to Intersection 76. Spencer Swampstompers trail located North of Hwy 98 and east of Corridor 25. Colby Trailblazers trail from Intersection 55 to Intersection 57. The above sections will remain closed due to numerous reasons related to land owner limitations, limited snow cover and the warm periods experienced in late December.

Riders should practice responsible riding as conditions will vary from excellent to fair throughout the system as early season riding conditions are present. Riders should specifically be on the lookout for rough patches across fields, ice patches and thin snow coverage.

Please note that UTV’s are not allowed on the Clark County ATV Trail system during the winter months (November 1- May 14). Clark County trails are subject to periodic closure; for updates on recent closures and/or openings please contact the Forestry and Parks Department at 715-743-5140, or visit the county website at www.co.clark.wi.us for more information on our trail system.
